Measurement diagram
A standing figure with five measurement points labeled A through E, indicating where on the body to measure. Refer to the labeled list below for the specific measurement and instructions for each point.

A
Neck to Floor — Robe Length
Stand upright in bare feet. Measure from the base of your neck — where neck meets shoulder at the back — straight down to the floor. Round up if between measurements. A robe that is slightly long can be hemmed; a short robe cannot be lengthened.
B
Shoulder to Fingertip — Sleeve Length
Arm relaxed at your side. Measure from where your neck meets your shoulder, down the outside of the arm, to the tip of your middle finger. The finished sleeve reaches the first knuckle — the traditional length for operative work.
C
Chest Circumference
Fullest part of chest or bust, tape parallel to the floor, over any undergarments worn beneath the robe. If 44″ or above, or broad through the upper back, note the broad-shouldered adjustment — the pattern increases the shoulder measurement from 14″ to 16″.
D
Height
Barefoot, standing upright. Cross-check against Measurement A — the two should be within a few inches of each other.
E
Head Circumference — Hood
Around the fullest part of your head — above ears and across the forehead. Standard hood fits 21″–23″. Note your measurement if outside this range.
