Ritual — Hand-Bound Edition

Placed in a Private Collection

Of everything that has left the atelier, this is the piece we are proudest of: a one-of-one hand-bound edition of Ritual, the grimoire by Damien Echols and Lorri Davis.

This book was crafted from scratch. It is bound in full TALAS Alran goatskin, vegetable-tanned, in Ruby Red, over laced-in boards with raised bands on the spine. The title and the authors' names are tooled in gold on the spine and the front board. At the centre of the front board the sigil from the book sits inside a ring of cabochon stones, each hand-set in a gold bezel; the back board carries the same sigil tooled in gold within a ring of lettering. The page edges are burnished 24k gilt, and beneath the gold is a fore-edge painting that shows only when the pages are fanned. Every element was chosen to answer the text it holds.

It was our tremendous honor to create this one-of-one for Damien and Lorri. The book is now part of their private collection.
